Merida and beyond…
Of all the places I’ve traveled in the world, Yucatan holds a special place in my heart. Over the last 10 years I’ve had a close relationship with a Mayan family which has allowed me to offer this authentic experience to others. When in Yucatan, and with the Mayan people, it feels far different than the rest of Mexican culture. I am left in awe of the food, language, and culture more with each visit. Over the years, I have witnessed the decline in Mayan language and the culture being exploited without respect. It is extremely important to me to offer this experience in the most respectful way possible, while inspiring others to learn about this beautiful culture and help in its preservation. We will be starting and ending in the capital of Yucatan, Merida; a beautiful city with rich history. Over the course of our tour we will travel to and visit several archaeological sites/ruins, indulge in authentic Mayan cuisine, educate ourselves about the Mayan culture, spend time with a host family, learn the language, assist in a traditional pib, and more!
