Itinerary

Welcome to Egypt! Upon arrival at Cairo International Airport, you'll be met and transferred to your hotel to settle in and unwind. In the evening, gather for a group dinner featuring authentic Egyptian cuisine.

Day 1

We start our adventure with a visit to the Grand Egyptian Museum, the largest museum for any one civilization in the world. We have a full day here to fully take everything in. Home to Khufu’s Solar Boat, the entire collection of King Tutankhamun, and much more!

DAY 2
DAY 3

Today, we visit the Cairo Citadel and then stand before the Giza Pyramids and Sphinx. We enjoy our final afternoon in Cairo and get ready for our early morning departure where the adventure truly begins.

Day 4

A short morning flight brings us to Luxor, once Thebes, the great capital of Egypt’s New Kingdom. From there we drive north along the Nile to Dendera, home to the Temple of Hathor and its vividly painted astronomical ceilings, among the best-preserved in Egypt. We then board our Nile cruise, settle in over lunch, and take the afternoon to rest. For sunset, we head to Karnak Temple, a vast complex built and expanded over more than 2,000 years. Back on board, overnight on our cruise.

Rise before dawn for a hot air balloon ride over the West Bank as the first light illuminates the Nile and ancient ruins. Explore the Valley of the Kings, the resting place of pharaohs including Tutankhamun, with access to two exclusive tombs beyond the standard entry. Visit the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, carved into the cliffs of Deir el-Bahari, then a sunset visit to Luxor Temple. Dinner on board as we sail overnight towards Edfu.

DAY 5

Begin with an early morning visit to the Temple of Edfu, dedicated to the falcon god Horus and one of the best-preserved temples in Egypt. Back on board, we continue sailing south toward Aswan, with lunch and a relaxing afternoon on deck as the Nile scenery drifts by. At sunset, we stop at Kom Ombo, a rare double temple shared by the crocodile god Sobek and the falcon god Horus the Elder, set right on the riverbank. Overnight aboard our cruise.

DAY 6

We set out before dawn for Abu Simbel, where four colossal statues of Ramses II guard the entrance to his great temple, carved directly into the mountainside more than 3,000 years ago. After returning to Aswan for lunch, we board a private boat to a Nubian village, known for its brightly painted homes, warm hospitality, and traditions passed down for centuries. In the evening, there’s time to browse Aswan’s local market for spices, scarves, and souvenirs before dinner back on board.

DAY 7

We spend the early morning at the Temple of Philae, the island sanctuary of the goddess Isis, reached by a short boat ride across the Nile. After a final chance for souvenir shopping in Aswan, we take an afternoon flight back to Cairo. The rest of the day is yours to relax and pack for tomorrow’s desert adventure, before we come together for a group dinner.

Day 8

Today we head southwest of Cairo into the Fayoum desert to Wadi El Hitan, the Valley of the Whales, a UNESCO World Heritage Site where fossilized whale skeletons some 40 million years old lie exposed in the sand, remnants of an ancient sea that once covered the region. Then it’s time to play on the dunes with an afternoon of sandboarding, followed by a visit to a desert oasis with the option to cool off with a swim. We gather for a shared meal before returning to Cairo for our last night together in Egypt.

DAY 9
DAY 10

Enjoy a final Egyptian breakfast before your airport transfer and departure.
